Tulip Kids Preschool offers an exciting program where your child will be exposed to a wide range of first time experiences! Our program is set to provide the tools that nurture a real love for learning, inspire problem solving and expand curiosity while giving full support to your child’s development. With our skill based Mother Goose Curriculum, your child will be given support in these various domains: social/emotional, physical, mathematics, science, art, thematic units and language and cognitive development. As children participate in our Mother Goose Time curriculum, they will learn skills and new knowledge through monthly activities, thematic units and discovery projects. When this is combined with a nurturing environment, intentional teaching practices and meaningful relationships helps support your child be Pre-Kindergarten readiness!

Pedagogy that makes us different:
Our teaching and learning philosophy is based on Multiple Intelligence theory developed by Howard Gardner, professor of education at Harvard University. A child can be taught in a wide variety of ways using music, cooperative learning, art activities, role play, multimedia, field trips, inner reflection, and much more.
Children at Tulip Kids are valued members of the learning environment, with their individual needs and interests helping shape the curriculum. Through thematic teaching, Tulip Kids brings together various aspects of the curriculum into meaningful association. Social studies, emergent literacy, mathematics, science, music, art and sports classes are introduced each day. Play and exploration are also vital components of the learning process. Each classroom follows a developmentally appropriate curriculum to strengthen and increase the skills and knowledge of each child.

Holistic Child Development
A program curated for a complete development of the child.
Language Arts
Through literacy-based themes, our Language Arts curriculum takes a holistic approach to fundamentals such as letter recognition, phonetic understanding, letter writing and sound matching. Expressive and receptive language skills are developed through story interpretation, group discussion and journal work.
Mathematics
A range of developmentally appropriate math topics are introduced, practiced and improved, both in stand-alone exercises and through the lens of other learning units such as Science, Social Studies and Cooking. With numbers, counting, sequencing, shape and pattern recognition, measurements and charts, and the introduction of mathematical operations, our math roadmap allows for progressive skill-building all year long.
Arts
Students are exposed to a range of art materials, tools and techniques as they create hands-on projects with an emphasis on the creative process and experience rather than the final product. As children create art, they are also exposed to the art of others, from world folk art to famous artists such as van Gogh, Monet and Picasso.
Science and Sensory
Filled with hands-on experiments, our Science curriculum teaches students to ask questions and then formulate their own answers. Focusing on the natural world around us — water, plants, animals, weather— lends context and immediacy to these explorations. Additional studies in nutrition and recycling provide lessons in caring for one’s self and for the planet.
Creative Movement, Music & Theatre
This program incorporates expressing oneself through movement, acting out stories and role-playing. The elements of our Movement, Music & Theatre curriculum enhance confidence, develop imagination and the creative muscle, and teach skills of communication and interaction with others. Through dance to global music, children develop both fine and gross motor skills.
Social Studies
Social Studies is woven throughout the entire day at NY Preschool. Students explore the fundamental experiences of feelings, friendship and families, teamwork, helping others, solving problems, and learning more about themselves and their community. The emphasis is always on developing social and emotional confidence.
Gymnastics and Sports
Our state-of-the-art gym and USA Gymnastics-trained coaches are key elements in the NY Preschool experience. It is well known that an active body feeds a growing mind, and we provide daily physical activity as a core part of the curriculum. Students also develop an understanding of rules and organization, a sense of teamwork and fair play, and build strong values and strong muscles at the same time.
Chess
Join us for epic chess adventures where students will explore the dynamic game of chess through stories! During each lesson our students will explore a new chess concept, participate in story-adventures of chess characters and engage in interactive games!
Languages (Local, Spanish, etc.)
Students will expand their vocabularies by studying fundamental subjects including numbers, colors and food, as well as themes such as family and animals. Our language curriculum will engage students by incorporating games, music, flash cards and basic conversation.
